ROBO-ONE 30th Biped Robot Fight Tournamnt (Feb 26 , 2017)
ROBO-ONE 30th sponsored by Biped Robot Association, took place at BANDO KOBE SCIENCE MUSEUM in Kobe City, Hyougo Pref. on Feb 26, 2017.
ROBO-ONE Light 14th and ROBO-ONE auto took place on Sep 25th and 4.5m Footrce as the preliminary ROBO-ONE 30th Tournament and the main event ROBO-ONE 30th Final Tournament took place on Sep 26th.
The major regulation was the weight of robot, which was 3 kg or under 3 kg. Details of the body regulation were described in the 30th ROBO-ONE, the 14th ROBO-ONE Light Regulation and the 1st ROBO-ONE auto.(in English) Side punch has been prohibited since ROBO-ONE 23rd Tournament in the robot fight.
One hundred and Twenty-eight robots joined the competition. ROBO-ONE 30th was held as the tournament with 65 robots, upper place robots in the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace including winners of the local robot competitions or honor robots.
4.5 m Footrace
Four meters and 50 cm Footrace was carried out as the preliminary competition to select 60 robots and to decide the tournament order. Robots had to walk 4.5 m course with 90 cm width within 1 minute. Each robot time record taken 4.5 m walk, or the distance from start point if robot could not walk within 1 minute, or robot fell down from the course was recorded.
Each robot tried just one time Footrace. The 4.5 m course pasted with thin rubbers in the course, seemed to be not flat. Therefore, it was not easy to walk through 4.5 m course for the most of robots. All robots walked the course within 1 minute, passed the preliminary competition. The result of the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace is here.
The 1st place was Frosty by 4.48 seconds, the 2nd place was Chromekid by 8.20 seconds and the 3rd place was KAGRA-So by 9.26 seconds. Just 54 robots could reach the goal within 1 minute. Upper 20 robots were under 20 seconds, the 21st to the 34th place robots were under 30 seconds.
ROBO-ONE 30th Tournament (3 kg or Under)
The tournament winner was King Puni by Osaka Sangyo University. The 2nd place was Chromkid by Kupapa. The 3rd place was Gargoyle KID by Yoshida Familia . Result of the tournament is here.
Semifinal, 1st Game: Momotaro vs King-Puni

Beginner, who gets robot from the market and want to attend the ROBO-ONE Tournament, can attend the competition with his robot which is made from just robot kit. Custom-built robot, just the weight 1 kg or under (UK1) also can attend the tournament.
The regulations are as follows;
1) Officially recognized robot regulation
Robots on the market, officially recognized by ROBO-ONE Committee, can attend the competition whether the robot adapt the 30th ROBO-ONE, the 14th ROBO-ONE Light Regulation and the 1st ROBO-ONE auto.(in English)

In the tournament, custom-built robots handicapped by about 500 g compared with officially recognized kits such as KHR-3HV. It was interesting that how builder of custom robot UK1 overcame the weight handicap and which robot kit was able to win the tournament. However, it is necessary for getting championship of robot fight tournament to carry 3 important factors such as good body, good motion and good control.
Ninety-two robots joined the 14th tournament. More than 50 robots were custom-built robot, UK1 (1kg or under). Other robots were officially recognized robots such as KHR-3HV.
In the 14th tournament, custom-built UK1 robots could overcome the weight handicap 500g. The Champion, Little-puni by Puni was a custom-built robot. KONDO KAGAKU CO. LTD. put the highest torque (67kg-cm) servo, KRS-6003R2HV ICS on the market on Mar 4, 2017.
The characteristics of a new servo are as follows:
1) Using a gear wheel made from special aluminum metal and the third gear wheel made from hard stainless steel:
These gear wheels could endure more than 60 kg torque and make a big power.
2) Attached a heat-sink:
Using a heat-sink as a middle case, makes effective cool of the servo and using aluminum as the upper case makes the case strength improve remarkably.
3) Attaching aluminum clump hone:
Using a driving screw aluminum clump hone could endure overloading. Attaching buried clump hone could make the axis strength improve.
4) Variety of bottom case options:
There is a variety of bottom case option. It is possible to change the bottom case for variety flames.
The new servo is suitable for making a large original robot because of its high torque and variable bottom case options. The new servo is also effective for changing a few servos in general original robots.
Specifications are as follows:
MaximumTorque: 67 kg-cm (11.1V)
Maximum Speed: 0.22s/60°
