The 30th KONDO CUP Robot Soccer Game Open Class at ROBOSPOT in Akihabara, Tokyo (Dec. 1, 2013)

The 30th KONDO CUP Robot Soccer Game Open Class took place at ROBOSPOT in Akihabara, Tokyo on Dec 1, 2013.

The Open Class joined four teams had a preliminary league. Teams joined were Trinity (Chromkid, Garoo, Cavalier) , Team Shisenkai (Metalic-Black, Metalic-Red, Mikan-sulippa), Speed☆Stars (Saaga, Striker, Azusa-2gou-Fgata) and IKEIKE (BLACK TIGER ACE, ROBOSPOT-A, ROBOSPOT-B).  Preliminary league had 6 games.

Final game was carried out between the 1st place team (Speed☆Stars) and 2nd place team (Trinity) of the preliminary league.  The winner was Team Speed☆Stars (1-0). Results were described in KONDO's web site.

KONDO CUP, Robot Soccer Game started on June 5th, 2006.  KONDO Co. Ltd. almost held the games at ROBOSPOT for two days, on Saturday and Sunday. There are two classes, one is KHR Class which KHR-series robot such as KHR-1, 1HV, 2HV, 3HV can attend KHR Class game. KHR robots changed 4 and less than 4 high-torque servos such as KRS-4013HV, KRS-4014HV, KRS-2350HV also attend KHR Class game. The other class, Open Class which robots using just KONDO servo motor can attend Open Class game and the number of high-torque servo is not limited.

In the Open Class game, the first half was 5 minutes, halftime 1 min and the second half was 5 minutes. One team is consisted with 3 or 4 robots.  Just 3 robots can play soccer in the field. The soccer field of Open Class is larger than that of KHR Class. The regulation of robot body and rules of soccer are described in the KONDO’s web site.

The 10th Wandahoo Robot Carnival will take place in Mitaka City, Tokyo on Dec 7th, 2013

The 10th Wandahoo Robot Carnival took place on Dec. 7th, 2013.  Sanzai-san reported the details in his blog (in Japasense).
 `Ustream Wandahoo Robot Carnival` is also keeping all videos.

The competition will be shown on `Ustream Wandahoo Robot Carnival` from 12:00 to 18:00 , Dec 7th 2013. (JST).

Wandahoo Robot Carnival is sponsored by Ishikawa-san and supported by the members of Kanto ROBOT Practice(Kanto-gumi Robot Training Meeting). Ishikawa-san and his stuffs are busy preparing USTREAM Live system of the Carnival now. Entry of the Carnival will finish on Nov. 30th, and 30 robots will join.

The Carnival is robot competition consisted with various four type games such as Dash 2000 (competition of 2 robots, 2 m U-turn course foot race; each robot gets points depended on the order of record time), Bottle Traction (pushing or pulling a basket with 500 or 1000 ml bottles for 2 m within 1 minute; points are multiplication of number of bottles and distance carried), Dice Shot (dice soccer of 2 robots; each robot gets points depended on the spots of dice shot for 2 minutes) and Cubs (team game of 3 robots each, carrying cubs to own territory for 2 minutes; winner team members get points) and Robot Fight with the best 4 robots. Therefore, this Carnival is called `Robot Olympic`.

Each robot gets points from each game. In the case of team game, winner team member robots gets points. Four robots gotten many points can join the final tournament of Robot Fight. The rest robots have Ramble Fights. Those games were planned by Ishikawa-san.
It is necessary for winner that the robot has a high activity with performance and also good luck.


The 1st Carnival took place on July 16, 2006 and then the Carnival held twice in January and July every year. From 2010, the Carnival takes place in July once a year. Robot Pro-Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!16` took place in Soka City (Nov 3, 2013)

Robot Professional Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!16`, sponsored by Omata-san took place in Soka City on Nov 3, 2013 during Soka Fusasara Festival 2013.  Dekinnoka!12 was carried out in Fukuoka City on Mar 3, 2013 and Kyushu Group defeated Kanto Group.  Dekinnoka!16 was held as full-war return matches between Kanto Group and Kyushu Group.  Details are also reported in Sanzaisan's blog (in Japanese).

Eight matches started at 2:15 pm.  Three matches were carried out using Pro-Wrestling Rule and 5 matches using Robot Fight Rule.  Pro-Wrestling Rule is as follows; robot cannot get up within ten counts losts the match.  Robot Fight Rule are as follows; robot gets points by punch-down or throwing.  When the difference of twelve points between two robots, larger points robot wins the match.

The 18th Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku, Tokyo (Sep 29, 2013)

The 18th Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on Sep. 29, 2013.   Six robots, Arnold Stallone (Noborizaka),  Denryu (Gons), CR-Cannon (Yoshida), Yabusame (Mota) , FAMICOM-TANK (Ninagawa) and 9th-ROBO (9th) joined the 18th Survival Game.   All robots were controlled by camera system in all battles except for Battle Royal (Rumble Battle).

Twenty-two Robot Survival Games such as Combat Shooting, Fox Hunting, Duel Fight, Flag Battle, Extermination Battle, Attacker and Flag, and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in the 18th. Tobby-san uploaded videos of all games in his YouTube channel.  Noborizasa-san also uploaded videos through the camera attached his robot, Arnold Stallone.

Combat Shooting :
Combat shooting is a practice game for training of shoot skill.  Robot moves to the shooting place from the starting point and shoots the target. Robot has to go to the shooting place for easy shooting.  The target was a small can covered with aluminum foil in the 16th.  Shooting of the center place of the target got bonus points.

Danbot, a New Robot Kit for Beginners (Sep 25, 2013)


Danbot, a new robot kit for beginners was put on the market by Asakusa Giken on Sep 25, 2013.  Beginners can move Danbot without using PC, but using just TV remote control and also can make program of the robot by using TV remote control.

The control board can move eight servo motors.  Following video is a 4 axis robot, Roopo type robot.  Danbot seems to be suitable for making a Roopo type robot. Three alkali batteries (1.5 V x 3) were used for the power source.  The control board is also useful for control system using TV remote control.

ROBO-ONE 23rd Biped Robot Fight Tournamnt (Sep 14-15 , 2013)

ROBO-ONE 23rd sponsored by ROBO-ONE Committee, took place at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo on Sep 14th and 15th, 2013.    ROBO-ONE Light 7th took place on Sep 14th, 4.5m Footrace took place as the preliminary ROBO-ONE Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) on Sep 14th and the main event ROBO-ONE 23rd Tournament (Light Class, Under 3kg) took place on Sep 15th.

Regulations of ROBO-ONE 23rd
The major regulation was the weight of robot, which was 3 kg or under 3 kg.  Details of the body regulation were same as those of the 22nd except for upper sole size of the foot as 14 cm and side punch was prohibited in the robot fight tournament.

ROBO-ONE 23rd  was held as the tournament with 48 robots upper place robots in the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace including winners of the local robot competitions .

4.5 m Footrace
Four meters and 50 cm Footrace was carried out as the preliminary competition to select 48 robots and to decide the tournament order.  One hundred robots joined the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace.

Robots had to walk 4.5 m course with 90 cm width within 1 minute.  In the 23rd,  5 thin rubbers under 1 mm was pasted on the board in the course.   Each robot time record taken 4.5 m walk, or the distance from start point if robot could not walk within 1 minute, or robot fell down from the course was recorded.

Each robot tried just one time Footrace. The 4.5 m course pasted 5 thin rubbers in the course, seemed to be not flat.  Therefore, it was not easy to walk through 4.5 m course for most of robots.    All robots walked the course within 1 minute, passed the preliminary competition.   The result of the preliminary 4.5 m Foot race is here.

The 1st place was Metalic Fighter 11.15 seconds by Team Meta, the 2nd place was Hauser 12.22 seconds by Craftman, the 3rd place was Gargoyle KID 12.92 seconds by Yoshida Familia.

Just 43 robots could reach the goal within 1 minute. Upper 10 robots were under 17 seconds, the 11th to 17th place robots were under 20 seconds, 18th to 30th were under 30 seconds.

Sanzai-san also reported details of 4.5 m Footrace (in Japanese).

4.5 m Footrace Videos
Yamada-san uploaded 4.5 m Footrace videos.  The 1st place was No.28 Metallic Fighter by Team Meta and the record was 11.15 seconds.

No.73:Ryuketsu-kamen (26.02 seconds), No.74:Marika (Time out 2.042 m), No.75:Yokozuna Great Shiranui (Course out 3.002 m) , No.76:Frosty (Course out 3.42 m). Frosty was the 1st place (4.66 sec) of the 22nd ROBO-ONE 4.5 m Footrace.



ROBO-ONE 23rd Tournament (Light Class, 3 kg or Under)
 Side punch was prohibited in the ROBO-ONE 23rd Tournament as a new regulation in the robot fight.

The tournament winner was Laio by Kobe Municipal Science and Technology High School.  The 2nd place was Garoo by Kumama-san.  The 3rd place was Newtrino-Nero by Hida-Kamioka High School and the 4th place was Gattender by Sima-san.   Result of the tournament is here.

KCB-4WL, New Wireless LAN Board for Hobby Robot from KONDO (Sep 6th, 2013)

KONDO KAGAKU Co. Ltd opened a new wireless LAN board for hobby robot on Sep 6th, 2013. KCB-4WL is a board for remote controlling robot system with KONDO robot controlling board RCB-3HV or RCB-4HV.   It seems to be useful for such as autonomous robot, multi-legged robot game etc.

KONDO KAGAKU Co. Ltd put KCB-3WL,  previous version of KCB-4WL on the market in 2010.  Details of the KCB-3WL were also described in this blog.

The new board, beta version was put on the market and the complete version will be put on the market in the end of this year. The price including all systems is 31,500 yen (including tax).

KHR 9th Anniversary KONDO Battle took place at Arts Chiyoda in Tokyo (Aug 24, 2013)

The 9th KHR Anniversary, Robot competition, sponsored by KONDO KAGAKU CO.,LTD took place at Arts Chiyoda in Tokyo on Aug 24 and 25th, 2013. The KONDO BATTLE KHR class took place on Aug 24th. The games were shown on `USTREAM KONDO-ROBOT Channel` from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm (JST) and videos were keeping in the Channel.

KHR-1, KHR-2HV, KHR-1HV and KHR-3HV can join the KHR class. Sixteen Robots joined were 2 KHR-1 based robots, 2 KHR-2HV based robots, 1 KHR-1HV robot and 9 KHR-3HV robots. The body regulation is the same as KONDO CUP KHR class. BLACK TIGER, my customized KHR-1 robot also joined the group B. Robots were divided into 4 groups. Preliminary league was carried out in each group.

Final tournament was carried out with four robots, which were the 1st place robots of each group. The 1st place robot of A group was YutaRobo AT by Hiroshi N, B group was Cavalier by Emanon, C group was Banboo-custom by Battle-Banboo, Cochromkid by Kupapa.

The winner was CoChromkid.

Hero Mecha ☆ Dreams in AKIBA Daisuki Festival 2013 Summer (July 28, 2013)


Hero Mecha ☆ Dreams in AKIBA Daisuki Festival 2013 Summer took place at Bellesalle Akihabara in Tokyo on July 28, 2013.

Eight robots joined the competition. It was possible to order of the song when robot entered the ring. The main regulation for robots joined was to wear the hero robot exterior of SUNRISE such as GUNDAM.   Robot could use a gun and if the bullet from the gun hit the opponent, Robot got one-down. The other robot fight regulations were the same as the ROBO-ONE Tournament.

Robot Professional Wrestling Match, `Dekinnoka!13`  will take place at Bellesalle Akihabara in Tokyo during AKIBA BAISUKI! Nejiron will answer the winner's request. This story is similar to that of `Dragon Ball`.

`Dekinnoka!` in Japanese, means `Can you do it?`. As Omata-san has been loving real professional wrestling, the 1st Robot Professional Wrestling in Soka on Nov. 3rd, 2008 was planned and held by him. He explained the 'Robot Professional Wrestling' was not 'Wrestling' but 'Fighting Arts'. The purpose of `Dekinnoka!` was not only robot fight but also to inform pleasure of robot. 

President Mister Tamao of Robot Pro-Wrestling, who is Omata-san planned not only wrestling match but also the back story of each wrestler character such as a real pro-wrestling match.

Omata-san carried out 15 times `Dekinnoka! as 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.5, 11 and 12. `Deknnoka!` has been also supported by the members of Kanto-Training-Group.

ROBOT ATHLETE CUP 2013 at TAMAROKUTO SCIENCE CENTER took place in Nishi-Tokyo City, Tokyo on June 30, 2013, which was sponsored by TAMAROKUTO SCIENCE CENTER and ROBOT ATHLETE CUP Executive Committee.

The purposes of ATHLETE CUP are development of robot technology and activation of the robot-market by providing robot builders and students with a place for exchanging information.

MANOI by KYOSHO, KHR series by KONDO KAGAKU CO., LTD. and Himejisoftworks Zero series which were on the market could join the competition. Revised these robots also could join.

Seven robots joined 5 athletic competitions which were Radio Controlled 5 m Foot Race, Radio Controlled 10 m Obstacle Race, Dancing, Autonomous Beach Flag, Autonomous 20 m Foot Race and High Jump. Each competition winner got a prize, twenty thousand yen.

Competitions were carried out on the athletic field which was 6 m length and 1.8 m width punch-carpet (needle-carpet).  Results are shown in Robot Yuenchi Blog.

Radio Controlled 5 m Foot Race

Four robots joined the competition. Each robot could run the 5 m course 3 times. The robot taken the best record was a winner. Robot joined were 1) BLACK TIGER β, 2) ATACO, 3) Purple Star, 4) Metalic MANOI. The winner was ATACO, MANOI revised robot by Hiroki which best record time was 13.60 seconds.  Video is each robot's best record of 3 times run.

Complete Fighting Robot Set 'Melissa Exceed Type G' was put on the market (June 5, 2013)

CRAFT HOUSE put 'Melissa Exceed Type G', a new completed robot set, on the market on June 5, 2013. The completed robot is a hyper-fighting robot consisted with parallel-linked leg set 'Mercury',  high power servo, KRS-4034HV as actuator and RCB-4HV as the control board.  About 30 motions for robot fight are installed to RCB-4HV.  The price is 580,000 yen (excluding tax).  It takes 3 weeks for shipping.

Features of 'Melissa Exceed Type G' are as follows:
1) 'Mercury' is a leg set using parallel-linked mechanism for KRS-4000 Series servo produced by KONDO CO. LTD. It makes a heavy robot body move with stability.
2) The actuator is high power servo, KRS-4034HV produced by KONDO CO. LTD.
3) Control board is RCB-4HV produced by KONDO CO. LTD., installed about 30 motions for robot fight.

The 16th Robot Survival Game at Mokei-juku, Tokyo (Mar 10, 2013)

The 16th Robot Survival Game took place at Mokei-juku in Tokyo on Mar. 10, 2013.  Mokei-juku, for Figure Making Lesson Room was used for the 16th Robot Survival Game Field as the 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th one.

Six robots, Arnold Stallone (Noborizaka),  Denryu (Gons), CR-Cannon (Yoshida), Yabusame (Mota), Combat Creatures (Mota) and XeroTANK (Ninagawa), joined the 16th Survival Game.   All robots were controlled by camera system in all battles except for Battle Royal (Rumble Battle).

Robot Survival Games such as Combat Shooting, Duel Fight (10 games) and Battle Royal (Rumble Battle) were carried out in the 16th. Tobby-san and Noborizaka-san uploaded videos of all games in his YouTube channel.  Noborizasa-san also uploaded videos through the camera attached his robot, Arnold Stallone.  Details were also described in Sanzai-san's Blog (1) (2) (3) (in Japanese).  

Combat Shooting :
Combat shooting is a practice game for training of shoot skill.  Robot moves to the shooting place from the starting point and shoots the target. Robot has to go to the shooting place for easy shooting.  The target was a small can covered with aluminum foil in the 16th.  Shooting of the center place of the target got bonus point.

Dual Fight : 
Just 2 robots fight in the field.

 Extermination Battle (Destroy the enemy completely): Each team fights to destroy the enemy completely within 5 minutes; Winner team is having larger number of survival robot after 5 minutes.

Battle Royal  (Rumble Battle) :
All robots fight each other and just one robot survival in 5 minutes was winner. Rumble fight was carried out without using camera system.

Robot Survival Game was planned by Tanaka-san and Bishii-san. Mobile, not only multi-legged robot or biped robot but also mobile with wheel or caterpillar, which equipped with toy gun, hit sensor and camera system, can join to play survival game. The 1st Robot Survival Game took place at Akihabara, Tokyo on July 19, 2010 and the game takes place every 2 months. Tanaka-san also planned several kind of survival game, such as Extermination Battle, Flag Battle and Fortress Battle.

Trials of the Robot Survival Game were held twice on April 10th and June 13th (1) (2), 2010. The 1st Robot Survival Game took place on July 19th, the 2nd one on Sep 11th, the 3rd one on Nov 20-21st, the 4th one on Dec 11 in 2010, the 5th one on Feb 20, the 6th one on April 17, the 7th one on June 26, the 8th one on Sep 3-4, the 9th one on Nov 26 in 2011, the 10th on Feb 26, the 11th on Apr 29, the 12th on June 24, the 13th on Aug 26, the 14th on Oct 28th in 2012, the 15th on Dec 16th in 2012 and the details were described in this blog.

The 7th KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race (Dec 22, 2012)

The 7th KONDO LAND Multi-Legged Robot Obstacle Race took place at ROBOSPOT in Akihabara, Tokyo on Dec 22, 2012.

Eight multi-legged  robots joined the race.   Robot joined were Garutan (Kumama), Metallic Vaio 2012 (Morinaga), Milfy (Matsuo), BLACK TIGER L44 (IKETOMU), WaniWani (KENTA), Hakurou (HERO@Musen-ken), Echo (Yuya) and Dark Liger (Moriken).


A new additional attraction was added in the 7th KONDO LAND because 3 robots cleared 6 attractions in the 6th KONDO LAND.  The 7th attraction is stairs with gate on the last stair.  The gate opens for 15 seconds by pushing the botton in the goal floor as following the picture.  

Robot has to go up staris within 15 seconds.Metallic Bio 2012 tried to going up the stars, however it was very hard to go up the stairs.

Each robot had twice real time record race.  In the 7th KONDO LAND Obstacle Race, no robots clear the course within 3 minutes and no robots charenged the 7th attractions. 

The 1st place was Garutan, the 2nd place was WaniWani.  The MVP was also Garutan custom-built by Kumama-san and Kupapa-san. Garutan was attached a camera system and was controlled through camera in the motan-house.

DeAGOSTINI Has Issued `Weekly Robi` with Biped Robot Parts of Robi (Feb 19, 2013)


DeAGOSTINI has issued weekly magazine, `Weekly Robi` with biped robot parts of Robi on Feb 19th, 2013.  The issue was announced in TV commercial on the day.  Robi parts are attached every weekly magazine.   Robot will complete with 70 volumes of magazine. The first issue price is 790 yen including tax. Price of the 2nd issue will be 1990 yen.  The issue attached control board will be 4,990 yen.

Gingmag also introduced the issue of `Weekly Robi` in English.

Tomotaka Takahashi who is well known as robot creator such as CHROINO, FT, ROPID, EVOLTA etc., designed Robi. 

Control board of Vstone Co., Ltd is used for the robot.   Servo motors of Futaba Corporation are used with 20 axes.  Voice-recognizing board and Human-detect-sensor are also attached.  The weight is 1 kg including battery and the height is 340 mm.
