The major regulation of the 1st ROBO-ONE auto were just autonomous robot could join the tournament and the weight of robot, which was 5 kg or under.  Details of the body regulation were described in the 30th ROBO-ONE, the 14th ROBO-ONE Light Regulation and the 1st ROBO-ONE auto.(in English)   Side punch has been prohibited since ROBO-ONE 23rd Tournament in the robot fight.

Sixteen robots joined the competition.  The tournament winner was Ko-Bis by Bisko.  The 2nd place was SunShot by Osaka Electro-Communication University Jiyukobo-HRP.   The 3rd place was Garoo by Kumama.  Result of the tournament is here.

My autonomous robot, `BLACK TIGER NEO` also joined the tournament, however he dropped out of the ring and lost the game.   Almost autonomous robot had sensor system as PSD and/or ultrasonicwave sensor.  It was difficult for alomost autonomous robot to find the robot in long distance such as 1 m over.

Otsuka-san joined the tournament with his autonomous robot `Babbo-auto` and uploaded reports (1) (2) (in Japanese) of the details of tournament and also all videos of the 1st ROBO-ONE auto to his YouTube Channel.

KRS-6003R2HV, the highest torque (67kg-cm) servo, was put on the market ( Mar 4, 2017 )

KONDO KAGAKU CO. LTD. put the highest torque (67kg-cm) servo, KRS-6003R2HV ICS on the market on Mar 4, 2017. The characteristics of a new servo are as follows:

1) Using a gear wheel made from special aluminum metal and the third gear wheel made from hard stainless steel:
These gear wheels could endure more than 60 kg torque and make a big power.

2) Attached a heat-sink:
Using a heat-sink as a middle case, makes effective cool of the servo and using aluminum as the upper case makes the case strength improve remarkably.

3) Attaching aluminum clump hone:
Using a driving screw aluminum clump hone could endure overloading. Attaching buried clump hone could make the axis strength improve.

4) Variety of bottom case options:
There is a variety of bottom case option. It is possible to change the bottom case for variety flames.

The new servo is suitable for making a large original robot because of its high torque and variable bottom case options. The new servo is also effective for changing a few servos in general original robots.

New KONDO Robot KXR Series, KXR-L2 Biped Robot and KXR-L4-R Turtle Robot Will be Put on the Market (Dec. 14, 2016)

KONDO KAGAKU CO. LTD. announced a new robot series KXR, KXR-L2 Biped Robot and KXR-L4-R Turtle Robot will be put on the market on Jan 26, 2017.

The Concept of KXR series
The KXR series consist of servomotors with two kinds of specification that commonized an external form for replaceable freely depending on a purpose, resin frame parts more than 30 kinds which easily and surely assemble and a control board with the software.

As for the robot kit, it was packaged conventionally such as "biped robot" "turtle robot" or "arm type robot" independently. Therefore, if turtle robot convert to biped robot, it was necessary to design new parts and to compose them.

However, the KXR series can easily rearrange each set to another type robot using a lot of parts prepared. The optional parts such as a radio control apparatus or various sensors are also prepared. Therefore it is easy to make custom made robot using the KXR series.

KONDO is the leading company of hobby robot and the new robot is the third product of KONDO. The first hobby robot, KHR-1 was developed by KONDO and put on the market in 2004. The second one, KHR-2HV in 2006 and the forth one, KHR-3HV in 2009.

Specifications of KXR-2L are as follows:

Kit Content
Tempered resin frame parts
Control Board: RCB-4mini
Servomotor: KRS-3301 ICS ×16
Robo Power Cell E type: 6N-800mAh Ni-MH
Battery charger: BX-32MH
Dual USB Adapter HS
CD-ROM :(Manual & Sample motions)

Price: 69,800 yen excluding tax

Specifications of  KXR-L4-RK are as follows:

Kit Content
Tempered resin frame parts
Control Board: RCB-4mini
Servomotor: KRS-3301 ICS ×9
Robo Power Cell E type: 6N-800mAh Ni-MH
Battery charger: BX-32MH
Dual USB Adapter HS
CD-ROM :(Manual & Sample motions)

Operating environment
OS: Windows Vista(SP1) Windows7 8 8.1 10
CD-ROM Drive for software installation
Interface: USB Port (1.1/2.0)

Length: 275(H) x 119(W) x 153(D)mm
Weight: approximately 630 g including battery
Price: 45,000 yen excluding tax

Optional Parts
A large number of optional parts are prepared to realize the attractive rearrangement of the KXR series.
As KRS-3301 ICS, the servomotor used in the KXR series is the same size that of KRS-3304 ICS which torque is 13.8 kgf・㎝ higher than 7.5 kgf・cm of KRS-3301 ICS. Therefore, if KRS-3301 ICS changed to KRS-3304 ICS, the movement is more stable.

Each robot tried just one time Footrace. The 4.5 m course pasted with thin rubbers in the course, seemed to be not flat.  Therefore, it was not easy to walk through 4.5 m course for most of robots.    All robots walked the course within 1 minute, passed the preliminary competition.   The result of the preliminary 4.5 m Footrace is here.
